The hard work, drills and training from the whole year paid off as both teams excelled in the group matches. Each team played nine matches and got gradually better and better as the morning went on.

It was impossible to declare a man of the match as every single player gave 100% in both performance and attitude. Each was a credit to the club and behaved impeccably both on and off the pitch.

The best match of the day was the inevitable Sharks v Wolves clash. The spectators were treated to a fantastic game of tag rugby: committed and strong. No quarter asked or given by either side. Probably the best game that I have witnessed all season, topped off by extremely loud support from the parents, grandparents, friends (and dogs!) in the crowd. Two exhausted sets of players (and coaches) left everything on the pitch having played their hearts out.
A superb day was rounded off perfectly when the organisers awarded the trophy for Best Attacking Team to the Wolves. The coaches and parents couldn’t be any prouder. Well done to everyone involved.
